Laser-Guided Spine Localizer

This news story aired on Fox News on May 27, 2009. It describes an invention by Dr. Pakzaban which helps spine surgeons find the appropriate area on the back to make an incision. Because the location of the target in the spine can be precisely defined with this device, called a Laser Localizer, a much smaller incision can be made. This invention, which was published by Dr. Pakzaban in the February 2009 issue of Journal of Neurosurgery (as the cover article), represents an advance in the field of minimally-invasive spine surgery.

Dr. Pakzaban received an honorary resolution from the State of Texas for this invention. The invention was also featured in local newspapers. More information is available at www.spinelocalizer.com. Patent pending.
