Spine ICD-10 is a free iPhone app created by Dr. Pakzaban to get ICD-10 codes for spine disorders in a fast and intuitive manner. Download from the App Store.
Instructions:
1. Select a category on the home page.
2. On the resulting page you will find two or more reels resembling a slot machine. Depending on the number of reels, your view may automatically change from portrait to landscape.
3. Proceed from left to right to pick the appropriate item on each reel. The reels are context-sensitive; i.e. your selection on each reel will change the contents of the subsequent reels.
4. Some reels may have no content and would have to be skipped, while others may have only one item (e.g. "X") that would have to be selected.
5. The ICD-10 code will change to green when it is finalized.
6. If you are online, the app will automatically communicate with a database maintained by the U.S. National Library of Medicine to provide an accurate and up-to-date description of the ICD-10 code.
Shortcut: If you are in a forced landscape view (e.g. the Trauma page), simply turn your device to portrait orientation to return home.
